We are very concerned about news of the abduction overnight of the leader and President of Mthwakazi Republic Party, Mr Mqondisi Moyo, from his house by the Zimbabwe state security agents, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
This is an affront to the human rights of all the people of Mthwakazi and we condemn this behaviour in the strongest terms possible. Once again, we are reminded of the brutal, inhuman and genocidal practices, including the use of rape as an instrument of the Zimbabwe regime against the people of Mthwakazi that have continued with impunity for 41 years since 1980.
We call upon the Zimbabwe regime to unconditionally release Mr Mqondisi Moyo, President of Mthwakazi Republic Party and a staunch activist of Mthwakazi human rights, immediately and grant him access to legal representation before the Zimbabwean courts in an open and transparent manner.
There is no reason even by Zimbabwean law standards for anybody in this day in age to be abducted by marauding state agents. We therefore call upon all peace loving people and human rights organisations across the world to condemn this abduction with the contempt it deserves and call upon the Zimbabwe regime to free Mr Mqondisi Moyo immediately. Our hearts and pain are with him, his family, his friends and all his comrade activists within the Mthwakazi Republic Party and beyond at this concerning moment about his health, wellbeing and safety at the hands of his evil abductors.
